Fraxel® DUAL Laser - Aesthetica White Lies

Fraxel® DUAL Laser

The Fraxel® DUAL (1550 and 1927 wavelength) laser treatment is a non-invasive, microscopic laser procedure available at Aesthetica Skin Centre. This DUAL laser penetrates your skin to encourage new collagen and elastin growth. It smooths wrinkles and scars, fades brown spots, and resurfaces your entire skin tone. Unlike really aggressive lasers, Fraxel® DUAL is a fractional skin resurfacing treatment, which means it only targets a fraction of the skin at a time. Fraxel® DUAL treatment improves tone, texture and radiance for ageing, sun-damaged or scarred skin. Specifically, Fraxel® DUAL is for people who want to look younger without dramatic changes or extended downtime. The Fraxel DUAL laser uses two wavelengths, 1550 and 1927 to address different skin concerns on the face, neck, chest, hands, and legs. The 1927 wavelength, targets skin discolouration conditions such as pigmentation, age spots and pre-cancer spots. At the same time, the 1550 wavelength is designed to target fine lines, wrinkles and scarring, leaving you with a smooth skin texture.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Fine lines and wrinkles surface scars; pigmentation caused due to sun damage; hormonal pigmentation, i.e. melasma; actinic keratosis; sun-damaged skin.
Fraxel® DUAL 1550/1927 laser treatment targets ageing and sun-damaged skin with microscopic laser columns that penetrate deep into your skin to expedite your body’s remodelling of collagen. And since the laser treats only a fraction of tissue at a time, it leaves the surrounding tissue intact, promoting very rapid healing. Fraxel® DUAL 1550/1927 treatment resurfaces your skin by stimulating the growth of new, healthy skin cells from the inside out.
Clinical studies suggest that an effective treatment regimen is 3 to 5 sessions spaced about 2 to 4 weeks apart on average. However, the proposed protocol depends on your skin condition. The time frame and treatment structure depend on skin healing and new collagen production that replaces the damaged tissue.
Most patients describe an increased sensation of heat during the treatment. However, to minimise discomfort, topical anaesthesia is applied before the procedure, and cold air is used on the treatment area during the procedure. After the treatment, most patients feel like they have a sunburn, which usually diminishes in 1 to 3 hours.
Smoother, rejuvenated and younger-looking skin. You can expect an improved skin tone and texture. Also, unwanted brown spots, fine lines, and visible scars’ appearance are dramatically reduced after the first session.
