Body Thread-Lift Procedure - Aesthetica White Lies

Body Thread-Lift Procedure

A Body Thread-Lift procedure, also known as feather lift surgery, is a delicate cosmetic surgery procedure to gently, lift sagging skin to produce a smoother, more youthful appearance. If gravity has started to take its toll on your body, a Body Thread-Lift procedure may be a less invasive alternative than surgery lift to rejuvenate the body without the risks and downtime associated with surgery. The thread-lift process involves very fine surgical sutures being inserted into the soft tissue of the body to lift and support sagging areas. It cannot offer the same results as original surgery but is a good option for a more subtle natural look. A Body Thread-Lift Procedure is, in other words, convenient and less invasive alternative to traditional surgery, designed for people who are experiencing early signs of bodily skin ageing. This innovative body lift procedure can be performed in just one or two hours.  During a Body Thread-Lift procedure at Aesthetica Skin Centre, Dr Bianca Cowan inserts thin threads into the skin through tiny incisions made in the targeted area. These threads attach to the skin tissue and are then pulled to lift and smooth the skin. Almost immediately, treated areas will be raised slightly, eliminating sagging and giving patients a rejuvenated bodily appearance. Because patients usually remain fully conscious during the procedure, they can approve the look of their thread lift while Dr Bianca Cowan does the work. Once these threads are knotted, they become hidden within the skin itself, and any scarring that results will be invisible.

An ideal candidate is in their 30’s or 40’s. People of 50 and over can be candidates as long as their skin has not become too lax. The procedure is ideal for improving looks by enhancing and highlighting features lost to premature ageing and sagging or loose bodily skin. The breasts, elbows, knees, upper arms, thighs, tummy, and buttocks are all areas possible for the lifting procedure. In particular, lifting and rejuvenating loose abdominal skin (tummy).
A thread lift is classified as a non-invasive procedure and is usually performed on an outpatient basis under local anaesthesia. The procedure takes around an hour to complete. The thread lift procedure involves making small incisions in key locations and inserting a threaded needle under the skin to anchor both ends to lift and suspend the skin. Several variations of the threading technique exist, as a preference of the doctor, or meeting specific patient needs. Once the individual situation has been assessed, generally between 2 and 20 threads will be used, depending on the patients’ needs. Body Thread-Lift procedure is a relatively new method. Although early thread lifts were performed using permanent threads, health professionals today, use dissolvable barbed threads. The barbs are embedded in the skin to promote fibrosis, the formation of new connective tissue bundles. The newly formed connective tissue acts as a scaffolding to hold up the skin, making it firm in the process. Cells produce hyaluronic acid in response to the fibrosis, which attracts and builds moisture to make the skin firm and full. When the skin’s microvessels become traumatised by the thread insertion, they open up, and new blood with oxygen and nutrients flow to heal them, resulting in younger-looking skin. There will be some level of discomfort, swelling and bruising around the area after the procedure. This will gradually subside. You can expect to go home after the procedure and return to normal activities 2 to 3 days later.
It is reasonable to expect improvement for 2 years. Further threads can be placed later to reproduce the progress.
Insertion of the threads takes about an hour to complete.
We recommend that you avoid other beauty treatments for 2 weeks. Also, it is best to avoid exercise for 2 weeks and contact sports for 4 weeks.
Some patients find the procedure uncomfortable, therefore does Dr Bianca Cowan uses a local anaesthetic before the procedure starts. Painkillers may also be used.
