Exilis™ Elite for Body - Aesthetica Skin Centre

Exilis™ Elite for Body

The Exilis® Elite for Body by BTL Aesthetics is a non-invasive body contouring device designed to tighten bodily skin while reducing stubborn fat. The Exilis® Elite for Body uses a combination of monopolar radiofrequency (RF) energy, and ultrasound to stimulate fat lipolysis (the breakdown of fat cells) and collagen remodelling (for skin tightening) to contour the body. Fat deposits in hard-to-reach areas can be reduced, all with long-lasting results provided that you continue to maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle. The procedure is suitable for those with stubborn, mild to moderate fat deposits, and can postpone or even eliminate the need for more invasive treatments, like liposuction, in the future. However, it is not a weight loss solution. At Aesthetica Skin Centre, the Exilis® Elite for Body is used to treat love handles, flabby arms, saddlebags on hips and thighs, and post-baby tummies.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Exilis is a new type of radiofrequency device that reduce unwanted pockets of body fat. It’s a non-invasive alternative procedure to surgical liposuction. Its results aren’t as dramatic as liposuction, but it’s a much safer and more comfortable procedure for people who want to rejuvenate, tighten skin and re-contour their bodies.
The procedure is stubborn fat cells and sagging or loose skin after weight loss.
The heat from the sound waves causes the dermis (the skin’s innermost layer) to contract. It also stimulates the formation of new collagen fibres. Collagen is a protein that helps keep skin taut and healthy. In addition, the heat generated by the Exilis technology—coupled with the vibrations of the device’s oscillating mechanical waves—liquefies and releases fat from the skin’s fat cells, thus shrinking and tightening up the treated area even more.
The device is now often used to treat and re-contour the back, arms, abdomen, buttocks, thighs, and ankles—just about anywhere you have loose skin and unwanted pockets of fat.
Almost anyone with loose skin or with mild to moderate deposits of fat is a good candidate for Exilis treatments. The procedure is safe for all skin types. The Exilis® Elite for Body is not recommended, however, for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. It is also not ideal for individuals with an active skin disease on the area intended for the treatment, or for people with a heart pacemaker or other implanted medical device.
Some individuals get good results after only a couple treatments, but for best results, most people need 4 to 6 treatment sessions, spaced 1 to 2 weeks apart.
Side effects are generally minimal. You may notice some pinkness or redness to the skin immediately following the treatment, but this typically subsides within 15-30 minutes. The treated area may be slightly tender to the touch for a little time afterwards, but this is not always the case.
