Refine. Circulate. Support.
Carboxytherapy is a minimally invasive treatment that uses medical-grade carbon dioxide (CO₂) to improve circulation, support tissue oxygenation, and enhance overall skin quality.
In body applications, it is commonly used to improve the appearance of cellulite, skin laxity, and localised areas of uneven texture.
Carboxytherapy is a medical aesthetic treatment that involves the controlled administration of carbon dioxide (CO₂) gas into the skin or subcutaneous tissue using a fine needle.
Although CO₂ is naturally produced by the body as part of normal metabolism, its targeted introduction into specific areas creates a local physiological response. This response is used therapeutically to improve circulation, enhance oxygen delivery, and support tissue function.
When carbon dioxide is introduced into the tissue, the body interprets it as an area of relative oxygen deficiency. In response, several processes are triggered:
• Vasodilation (increased blood flow): Blood vessels in the area expand, improving circulation
• Enhanced oxygen delivery (Bohr Effect): Haemoglobin releases more oxygen into the surrounding tissue in the presence of elevated CO₂
• Improved microcirculation: Nutrient delivery and waste removal are supported
• Stimulation of tissue activity: Fibroblasts may be activated, supporting gradual collagen remodelling
These combined effects can contribute to improved skin quality and function over time.
