The mesoestetic® Azelan RX Peel is a professional multi-acid chemical peel developed for skin affected by redness, sensitivity and visible vascular reactivity. Combining azelaic acid with complementary exfoliating and soothing ingredients, the treatment is designed to improve skin texture while helping manage the appearance of redness and irritation.
Azelan RX is part of mesoestetic's medical-grade mesopeel® MD range, formulated specifically for sensitive and redness-prone skin, including concerns associated with couperose and rosacea.
Skin affected by persistent redness or sensitivity often has an increased tendency towards inflammation and reactivity. This can be accompanied by burning, itching, flushing and an impaired tolerance to skincare products or environmental changes.
Azelan RX combines several active ingredients with different functions. Azelaic acid is recognised for its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and keratinisation-regulating properties. Salicylic acid supports exfoliation and helps reduce accumulated surface skin cells, while lactic acid contributes to superficial renewal.
The formulation also includes retinal and glycyrrhetinic acid, alongside mesoestetic's MD complex. Together, these ingredients are intended to provide controlled exfoliation while addressing visible signs of skin reactivity.
Unlike peels developed primarily for acne or pigmentation, Azelan RX is positioned specifically for the management of redness-prone and sensitive skin. However, because it contains active exfoliating acids, careful assessment is essential, particularly where the skin barrier is compromised or rosacea is actively inflamed.
Azelan RX may be considered for skin affected by diffuse redness, sensitivity, couperose and selected rosacea-related concerns.
It is particularly relevant where visible redness occurs alongside uneven texture or superficial congestion. However, not all sensitive skin benefits from chemical peeling, and some conditions may require barrier restoration or medical management before treatment.
During treatment, the peel is applied according to a professional protocol selected for your skin's condition and tolerance. Tingling, warmth or stinging may occur during application.
Following treatment, temporary redness, dryness, tightness or flaking may develop. Reactive skin may require additional recovery time, and treatment should be postponed if the skin is significantly irritated or inflamed.
Improvements in texture and the appearance of redness may develop gradually over a course of treatments. Results vary according to the underlying skin condition and individual response.
Gentle aftercare, barrier-supportive skincare and daily broad-spectrum sunscreen are essential following treatment.
